Biospecimens

IMPORTANT NOTICE: MOST Online/UCSF is no longer involved in public sharing of MOST biospecimens, due to the end of funding and closeout of MOST.

Requests for MOST biospecimens should be made via the NIA Aging Research Biobank, a web-based platform for sharing biospecimens and data with investigators in the research community. If you are interested in requesting MOST biospecimens, please visit the  NIA Aging Research Biobank website for more information.

Biospecimens were collected from enrolled MOST participants during grant Cycle 1 at the baseline and 30 month clinic visits, and during grant Cycle 2 at the 60-month clinic visit.

Enrolled MOST original cohort participants had a fasting blood draw and urine collection at baseline. Approximately half of the cohort had fasting blood and urine collected at the 30-month follow-up, and approximately 70% of the original cohort had fasting blood and urine collected at the 60-month follow-up.
